인간의 정체성은 축적의 결과라기보다, 

끊임없이 재배치되는 감정들의 구조에 가깝다.

얼굴은 그 구조가 드러나는 가장 불안정한 표면이다.

QQ의 작업은 색과 형태가 충돌하고 교차하는 지점에서 시작된다. 캔버스 위에 흩어진 색채의 조각들은 단순한 시각적 구성 요소가 아니라 삶의 순간들이 남긴 감정의 파편이다.

 

이는 인간의 정체성이 단일한 감정이나 서사로 완결되지 않으며 수많은 경험의 축적과 연결 속에서 형성된다는 작가의 시선을 반영한다. 

작가는 인물의 얼굴을 통해 내면 세계를 드러낸다. 과거의 사실주의적 재현과는 다른 방식으로 디지털 미디어가 일상이 된 동시대에서 현실과 가상, 개인과 사회의 경계는 흐려지고 자아는 점점 더 분절되고 다층적인 모습으로 변화한다.

QQ의 초상은 이 변화의 한가운데에서 탄생한다. 깨진 거울처럼 분열된 색과 형태는 현대인이 스스로를 인식하는 방식에 대한 은유이며 동시에 불완전함 속에서 끊임없이 자신을 재구성해 나가는 존재의 초상이다. 

〈Piece by Peace〉는 흩어진 감정의 조각들이 천천히 하나의 얼굴로 이어지는 시간을 담은 전시이다. 우리는 완벽한 모습으로 존재하지 않는다. 기쁨과 불안, 상처와 기대가 겹겹이 쌓이며 지금의 나를 만들어간다. 

QQ의 작업은 깨진 듯 보이는 색과 형태는 불완전함을 말하지만, 동시에 서로를 향해 이어지며 하나의 균형을 찾아간다. 

셀렉티드 닉스 갤러리에서 QQ의 개인전을 통해 단순히 ‘보는 대상’이 아니라잠시 멈춰 서서 자신의 감정을 들여다보는 시간이 되었으면 한다.

Human identity is less the result of accumulation than a structure of emotions that is constantly being rearranged.

The face is the most unstable surface through which this structure becomes visible.

QQ’s work begins at the points where color and form collide and intersect.

 

The fragments of color scattered across the canvas are not merely visual elements, but pieces of emotion left behind by moments in life.

This reflects the artist’s view that human identity is never completed through a single emotion or narrative,

 

but is formed through the accumulation and interconnection of countless experiences.

​

Through the human face, the artist reveals the inner world in a way that differs from the realist representations of the past.

 

In a contemporary world where digital media permeates everyday life, the boundaries between reality and the virtual,

 

and between the individual and society, have become increasingly blurred. The self, in turn, has grown more fragmented and multilayered.

​

QQ’s portraits emerge from within this transformation.

 

Like a shattered mirror, their fractured colors and forms serve as a metaphor for how people today perceive themselves.

 

At the same time, they portray beings who continually reconstruct themselves through their imperfections.

​

Piece by Peace captures the gradual process through which scattered fragments of emotion come together to form a single face.

​

We do not exist in a state of perfection. Joy and anxiety, wounds and hopes overlap in layers, shaping who we are today.

​

In QQ’s work, colors and forms that appear broken speak of imperfection. Yet they also reach toward one another, gradually finding a sense of balance.

​

We hope that QQ’s solo exhibition at Selected Nick’s Gallery offers more than something simply to be viewed—a moment to pause and look inward at one’s own emotions.
