INTRODUCTION
《TWO ARTS, ONE HEART》는 엄마와 딸이자 각자의 조형언어를 구축해온 김수자와 이정원 작가의 예술세계를 한자리에서 조명하는 전시다.
김수자는 점과 원이 반복되며 퍼져나가는 ‘동심원’을 통해 내면의 감정과 생각의 흐름을 표현한다. 씨앗이 싹을 틔우고 물결이 번져가듯, 화면 위의 형상들은 자유롭게 이어지고 확장된다.
작가에게 작업은 마음을 안정시키고 스스로의 균형을 찾아가는 과정이기도 하다.
이정원은 중세미술의 종교적·신화적 이미지에서 출발해 과거의 장면을 현대적인 시선으로 재해석한다. 본래의 역사적 의미에 머무르지 않고,
엄숙하고 낯설게 느껴졌던 중세의 인물과 풍경을 오늘날의 관람객이 새로운 이야기로 상상할 수 있도록 풀어낸다.
한 사람은 내면에서 바깥으로 퍼져나가는 감정을 그리고, 다른 한 사람은 오래된 이미지를 현재로 불러온다.
추상과 구상, 감정과 서사처럼 서로 다른 방향을 바라보지만, 자신만의 시선으로 세계를 해석하고 화면 위에 펼쳐낸다는 점에서 두 작가의 작업은 맞닿아 있다.
이번 전시는 엄마와 딸이라는 관계를 넘어 두 명의 독립된 예술가가 만들어낸 닮음과 다름을 보여준다. 서로 다른 시간과 시선이 한 공간에서 만나 만들어내는 따뜻한 교감과 새로운 울림을 느껴보길 바란다.

《TWO ARTS, ONE HEART》 brings together the artistic worlds of Kim Su-ja and Lee Jeong-won—mother and daughter, yet two independent artists who have each developed a distinct visual language.
Kim Su-ja expresses the flow of her inner emotions and thoughts through concentric circles formed by repeating and expanding dots and circular shapes.
Like a seed beginning to sprout or ripples spreading across water, the forms on her canvas connect and unfold freely.
For the artist, creating art is also a process of calming the mind and restoring a sense of inner balance.
Lee Jeong-won draws inspiration from the religious and mythological imagery of medieval art, reinterpreting scenes from the past through a contemporary perspective.
Rather than remaining bound to their original historical meanings, she transforms the solemn and unfamiliar figures and landscapes
of the medieval world into new narratives that invite today’s viewers to imagine their own stories.
One artist depicts emotions radiating outward from within, while the other brings images of the distant past into the present.
Although their works move in different directions between abstraction and figuration, emotion and narrative
they converge in the way each artist interprets the world through her own perspective and unfolds it across the canvas.
Beyond their relationship as mother and daughter, this exhibition presents the similarities and differences between two independent artists.
We invite you to experience the warm connection and fresh resonance created as their distinct perspectives and experiences come together in a shared space.

INTRODUCTION
타인의 속도에 자신을 맞추다 보면, 어느 순간 내가 진정으로 원하는 방향과 감정을 잊어버리기도 한다. 작가는 이러한 현대인의 삶에 질문을 던진다.
선명한 색채와 익숙하면서도 낯선 이미지, 중첩된 다양한 표정은 겉으로 드러나는 모습 이면의 복합적인 감정과 각자의 정체성을 보여주며
작품 속 인물들은 정해진 길을 따르기보다 자신만의 방식으로 스스로의 방향을 찾아갈 것을 이야기한다.
이번 전시는 작품들을 해석하는 데 그치지 않고, 관람객이 잠시 머물며 자신의 감정과 삶의 방향을 돌아볼 수 있도록 기획되었다.
누군가의 기준을 따라가는 삶에서 잠시 벗어나, 작품 앞에서 온전히 나 자신과 마주하는 시간을 선사한다.

As we try to keep pace with others, we may eventually lose sight of the direction we truly wish to follow and the emotions we genuinely feel.
The artist raises questions about this way of life in contemporary society.
Vivid colors, familiar yet unfamiliar imagery, and layers of overlapping expressions reveal the complex emotions and individual identities that lie beneath outward appearances.
The figures in the works encourage us to find our own path in our own way, rather than simply following a predetermined course.
This exhibition goes beyond interpreting the artworks.
It is designed as a space where viewers can pause and reflect on their own emotions and the direction of their lives.
Stepping away, even briefly, from a life shaped by the standards of others, the exhibition offers a moment to stand before the artworks and truly face oneself.
